Vineyard Ponderings: Summer Spotlights

Our summer began with some of our team behind the camera and continued with our owner, Suzi, in front of the camera. Read more —>

Our first lifestyle photo and video shoot

We had a great time with our first lifestyle photo shoot at the end of May. See some of our shots and a video captured below.

Business Owner Spotlight

Yosemite Farm Credit will feature Suzi and Four Ponds as a Member Spotlight. Their crew visited the vineyard for the video shoot in June. We really enjoyed the opportunity to share Suzi’s story, while also showcasing our wines and beautiful property.

“It was a real honor to share my story of how Four Ponds came into existence,” Suzi says. “I’m really incredibly grateful to be able to work with such a great team, which includes Yosemite Farm Credit. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to pursue this crazy dream of becoming a winery owner.”

Winemaker Featured

Suzi wasn’t the only one in the limelight last month. Our winemaker, Steve Leveque was the featured guest on the podcast Wine Soundtrack USA, with Allison Levin whose boutique firm, Please the Palate, serves the wine and spirits industries. The episode was recorded at our vineyard and we had a blast giving Allison the grand tour.

Construction Progress

We’re making progress on our tasting lounge. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects are coming down the homestretch on our production facility, which we hope to have operational by harvest.

Summer wine releases

We’ve got four new wines to release later this summer: Sauvignon Blanc 2025, Mourvedre 2024, Sangiovese 2024 and Mia Rosé of Primitivo 2025. Our wine club members will receive these in August. Our Mia is available to order now, with tasting notes below:

2025 Mia Rosé of Primitivo
California Shenandoah Valley, Amador County

Made in the traditional French Rosé style, our Mia, Rosé of Primitivo captures the lively, juicy flavors of newly harvested Primitivo. The luminous coral color along with aromatics of watermelon, fresh lemonade and a hint of almond paste are in sync with flavors of fresh peach sorbet, and strawberry. Together with a creamy finish of delicate lemon curd, framed by refreshing citrus acidity our Mia promotes the art of lingering on long summer days.

Food Pairings:
As we relish the warmer months, our Rosé’s bright acidity and fresh fruit flavors pair with foods of the season, especially those with mild spice. It matches seamlessly with tacos, guacamole and corn chips. It’s a natural complement with a mango salsa and  perfect with a tray of creamy cheeses, like triple cream brie or Havarti accompanied by an array of summer produce.
