Vineyard Ponderings: Recaps, Updates and Founders Club Offers

As the leaves on the vines begin to turn red, yellow and orange and the days start to turn a little more crisp, we have completed our second harvest and are heading towards the completion of our production facility. We’ve introduced our wines to friends and family and served diplomats gathered in Washington D.C. We experienced Amador’s Big Crush with our team and enjoyed getting the chance to meet our fellow winemakers and winery owners.

As we head into the final months of the year, we are grateful for all that we’ve accomplished and the support that we’ve received from the Amador wine community. We also look forward to providing more of our wines to more wine lovers in the coming year.

Here’s a recap of the past couple of months:

Friends and Family

We had a successful Friends and Family event in early September, with nearly 100 guests in attendance. It was a lovely evening in the vineyard, and we definitely felt the love.

Hobnobbing with Dignitaries

At the end of September, we joined a group of Lao American entrepreneurs in meeting the prime minister of Laos, Mr. Sonexay Siphandone, along with the newly appointed Lao ambassador to the U.S., Mr. Phoukhong Sisoulath and members of the Lao delegation to the U.N. It was an incredible honor to serve our wines at a reception for the diplomats.

Crushing it at The Big Crush

Our team got to visit our neighboring wineries over The Big Crush. We really enjoyed supporting our fellow winemakers and winery owners and can’t wait to participate next year.

Harvest and Construction Updates

Our last varietal picked — Cabernet Sauvignon— is in fermentation now. The rest of the grapes harvested have completed fermentation and are starting their long slumber in oak barrels, where they will remain for two years. We’ll check them every now and then to monitor taste, aromas and the fermentation process.

The roof over our production facility will soon be complete and we’ll start tasting lounge construction.
